Electronic Data Systems Corp. has won three task orders totaling more than $51 million from Sytel Inc., to help support the Department of Homeland Security Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Starlight program, EDS announced today.

The three subcontracts support functions of the former Immigration and Naturalization Service, which is now part of DHS.

Under the subcontracts, EDS of Plano, Texas, will assist Sytel of Bethesda, Md., in providing services for the Starlight Administrative Services, Starlight Financial Systems and Ports of Entry contracts.

The Starlight Administrative Services contract will enable EDS to continue serving the former INS by providing personnel, administrative, Internet and intranet systems. The systems are a mixture of platforms ranging from mainframe and client-server to Web-based and commercial off-the-shelf products.

Sytel and EDS will support financial accounting, internal reporting and reporting external auditing for the Department of Treasury. In addition, the team also will provide application maintenance, help desk and operations support.

The two companies also were selected for the DHS' Interagency Border Inspection System project, which encompasses all IT requirements to support the configuration at more than 300 ports of entry or pre-inspection sites within the United States, its territories and other countries. The task supports the infrastructure and unique interface requirements of ports of entry as part of the Starlight program.

EDS is a provider of information technology and business process outsourcing services as well as IT transformation services. The company has more than 137,000 employees and annual sales of $21.5 billion. The company ranked No. 9 in the Washington Technology 2003 Top 100 list.
