Amsec makes a deal

Amsec LLC, Virginia Beach, Va., will acquire Eagan, McAllister Associates Inc., Lexington Park, Md. Terms of the deal, expected to close in November, were not disclosed.

EMA provides information technology and engineering services for military clients. It focuses on aviation and command, control, communications, computers and intelligence programs. The company employs 1,000 people and reported $110 million of revenue for fiscal 2002. The company was ranked no. 77 on Washington Technology's Top 100 list.

A service supplier to the military and commercial maritime industry, Amsec is a partnership between the Newport News, Va., division of Northrop Grumman Corp. of Los Angeles, and Science Applications International Corp. of San Diego. The company was formed independently but was purchased by SAIC in 1987. It was recast as a limited liability corporation in 1999, as a business partnership between SAIC and Newport News Shipbuilding.
