BAE Systems nets $51 million Army contract

BAE Systems has won a five-year, $51 million contract from the U.S. Army to provide logistical support and services to the Hawaii garrison, the Army announced July 29.

Under the contract, BAE Systems of Farnborough, United Kingdom, will provide support in the functional areas of maintenance, transportation, supply and services for organizations attached to the U.S. Army Pacific and the Pacific Basin.

Work will be performed and managed by technical services personnel at Schofield Barracks and Fort Shafter on the island of Oahu and at the Pohakuloa Training Area, Hawaii.

BAE Systems will provide corporate support from company offices in Fort Walton Beach, Fla.

BAE Systems designs, manufactures, and supports military aircraft, surface ships, submarines, space systems, radar, avionics, communications, electronics, guided weapon systems and a range of other defense products.

The company has about 100,000 employees and annual revenue of $18 billion.
