LexTech Inc., Lexington, Ky., named John Groft as director of business development for its GEM division. The company sells IT-related products and services.
Equant, an Atlanta-based provider of global IP and data services, announced its Latin America regional executive team, led by
Francisco Navarro. Prior to his current position, Navarro was a vice president in Latin America for Global One, which combined with Equant in June. Key executives reporting to Navarro are:
Guillermo Monroy, head of sales and marketing;
Nada Nassar, head of professional services;
Eric Jambon, head of the project office;
Vitor Kacser, country manager for Brazil;
Nestor Mazza, cluster manager for Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay;
Raul Araya, cluster manger for Andino region; and
Jose-Renan Caballero, cluster manager for Mexico, Central America and the Carribean. The firm also named
Michael Berg as general counsel and company secretary. He will be responsible for directing Equant's legal affairs globally and ensuring the company's business goals are aligned with its global legal requirements. Berg joins Equant from AT&T.
CDC Solutions Ltd., a Philadelphia provider of enterprise content delivery solutions, appointed
Sunil Purohit as chief financial officer.
Clare Beazley, formerly the company finance director, is now company secretary. Purohit will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial operations, legal, HR and investor relations. Previously, he was group finance director for PSD Group Plc.
Carrier Access Corp., a Boulder, Colo., equipment manufacturer that helps telecommunications companies accelerate service revenue, lower operating costs and extend capital budgets, appointed
William White as chief information officer. White will focus on developing software, improving product and customer support fulfillment and streamlining internal business systems. He was previously with US West Information Technologies Inc., now known as Qwest Communications International, Inc. The company also appointed
Bruce Wildman as executive vice president of sales. He will lead Carrier Access' sales teams, and he will focus on increasing revenue through sales execution, expanding market share and decreasing product time to market. Wildman was previously with Cisco Systems Inc.
Scott D. King has joined the Washington office of
Grant Thornton LLP as program director in the firm's Global Government Group. He will work with clients in the public sector as part of the group's Defense Consulting Practice. The Defense Consulting Practice provides specialized management consulting services relative to cost and performance management, and strategic sourcing (including competitive sourcing). Grant Thornton is one of the global seven accounting firms, and an accounting, tax and management consulting firm.
The Washington-based
National Intellectual Property Law Institute appointed
William L. Tafoya as dean and director for The Information System Security and Education (ISSE) Center, a new unit within the institute created to advance best practices within the information security community and the continuing education of its participants. Tafoya is a retired special agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and is formerly professor of criminal justice at Governors State University and director of research for the Office of International Criminal Justice at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He also has more than 30 years experience in the field of law enforcement as well as information system and computer security.
Signal Corp., an information technology services provider in Fairfax, Va., promoted
Kevin Wideman to executive vice president for the Information Services Engineering division. He will oversee the expansion and continued growth of the company's contracts with the General Services Administration. He joined the company in 1996.
BTG Inc., an information systems and technical services firm in Fairfax, Va., promoted
Kevin Wilshere to senior vice president and general manager of the company's Logistics Engineering and Training business unit. He is also general manager of Research Planning Inc., a professional services company acquired by BTG in April. He joined the company in 1999. BTG also announced the appointment of two new group vice presidents:
Paul Roche for Finance and Accounting and
Paul Sullivan for Corporate Development. Sullivan, who joined BTG last year, leads a business development team that is responsible for identifying, pursuing and capturing new business. Roche provides financial management and strategic direction of the company's accounting and financial analysis, is responsible for external financial reporting and oversees compliance with government regulations. He was previously with CTSC.
