Hansen Grows International Market With Brazil Award

Hansen Information Technologies Inc. has won a contract to provide software solutions and customer service support to the Department of Water and Sewer Services for Americana, Brazil.

Hansen Information Technologies Inc. of Sacramento, Calif., has won a contract to provide software solutions and customer service support to the Department of Water and Sewer Services for Americana, Brazil.

Hansen's South American distributor, Videosan Saneamento Instrumental Ltd. of Sao Paulo, Brazil, will implement the project and provide project management, data conversion and training, Hansen officials said Jan. 12.

The value of the contract was not disclosed in the announcement.

Americana will use Portuguese versions of Hansen's customer service, water, waste water and plant modules to manage more than 55,000 water and 39,000 sewer accounts, according to Hansen officials.

In addition to overseeing the water and sewer department's piping infrastructure, the new system will manage both the water and waste-water treatment plants.

Americana's decision to contract with Hansen is part of a continuing effort by city officials to increase productivity and operating efficiencies of the city's water and sewer networks.

Americana has more than 175,000 residents. The city's water and sewer department provides the water supply to 99 percent and the sewer service to 87 percent of the city's residential, commercial and industrial structures.

"We are excited about our growing customer base in South America and the rest of the world," said Chuck Hansen, president and executive officer of Hansen Information Technologies. "Successes like this give us the opportunity to highlight Hansen's international presence and the important role our distributors play in the continued growth of the company."

Videosan has been Hansen's distributor in South America since 1997. The company has more than 350 employees.
