Lockheed Martin Unit Gets 10-Year Aegis Contract

JUNE 12 ? Lockheed Martin Naval Electronics & Surveillance Systems in Moorestown, N.J., has received a 10-year, $556 million contract from the Navy for support of the Aegis computer-controlled weapon system.


The contract includes modernization and upgrade engineering for the Aegis system as well as off-the-shelf equipment support, training and ship availability support. Naval Sea Systems Command will administer the contract.


The Lockheed unit designs, develops, installs and integrates new multiwarfare combat system technologies on the Ticonderoga and Arleigh Burke classes of Aegis guided missile cruisers and destroyers.


"We are pleased to be able to expand our contribution to the successful operation of Aegis ships around the world," said Fred Moosally, vice president and general manager of NE&SS-Moorestown.


NE&SS-Moorestown is one of six major operating sites belonging to Lockheed Martin NE&SS. NE&SS services include surface ship and submarine combat systems, antisubmarine warfare and ocean surveillance systems, missile launching systems, radar and sensor systems and ship systems integration services.
Lockheed NE&SS is the largest business organization within Lockheed Martin Systems Integration, based in Bethesda, Md.
