The New Faces of Washington Technology

P> Jack Sweeney, Washington bureau chief of Computer Reseller News and an award-winning reporter, has been named editor of Washington Technology, Publisher Tim Karney announced.
Sweeney succeeds Andrew Jenks, a six-year veteran of the news staff, who has accepted a doctoral fellowship at Stanford University, Palo Alto, Calif.
Karney also announced that Trish Gilmartin Williams, formerly senior editor of Space News and congressional editor of Aviation Week and Space Technology, will become news editor. She will succeed Joyce Endoso, who has relocated to Tom's River, N.J.
"Jack and Trish will be a powerful team to bring even greater value to the readers of our fast-growing newspaper," said Karney.
Karney also announced that Jeffrey M. Roberts will join the publication as art director, reporting to Production Manager Karen Friedeman.
Prior to his Washington assignment, Sweeney opened CRN's first international bureau in London after serving as investigative reports editor for the publication.
He joined CRN's parent company, CMP Publications, in 1987 after completing a master's degree in communications from Fordham University, Bronx, N.Y., where he earlier obtained a business degree.

While a member of the Defense News editorial start-up team, Trish Gilmartin Williams was frequently interviewed by other news media as an expert on the Strategic Defense Initiative and NASA's space shuttle difficulties.
Most recently, the St. Bonaventure University journalism graduate was managing editor of several of the Gazette Newspapers.
Roberts has been art director and production supervisor for the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors, responsible for its Web site, four-color magazine and weekly newspaper.
Roberts has a degree in commercial graphics from the Randolph School of Design of the University of North Carolina/ Greensboro.
Washington Technology, celebrated its 10th anniversary last month.
It is a fast-growing business newspaper for the infotech services industry, with a national circulation of 40,000 subscribers.
