CACI wins Army airborne intell work

CACI International Inc. will support an Army intelligence program that distributes aerial surveillance data to ground stations.

Under the $24.5 million contract, CACI will support airborne intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (AISR) for the Army Product Manager Aerial Common Sensor, company officials said today.

The AISR Ground Station Support system is housed in specially modified aircraft. The system gathers and processes intelligence data that is the transferred to ground locations for further analysis.

The Army awarded the work through its Strategic Services Sourcing (S3) program. The company has garnered more than $2 billion in S3 business, the officials said.

The Army continues to improve on AISR and related capabilities, reports Defense Systems magazine.

CACI, of Arlington, Va., ranks No. 20 on Washington Technology’s 2009 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
