Accenture to set up Kansas financial system

Accenture Ltd. will design and deploy a statewide financial management system for Kansas under a new deal.

Accenture Ltd. will design and deploy a statewide financial management system for Kansas under a three-year, $26.2 million contract.

Under the contract, Accenture will install Oracle's PeopleSoft 9.0. The enterprise software will address the state's needs for managing financial, procurement and grant processes, as well as data warehousing, company officials said.

The new system replaces a financial system that is almost two decades old, they said.

Accenture's teammates on the project are Oracle Consulting and CedarCrestone Inc., a provider of consulting and managed services for Oracle applications.

The new system is designed to deliver better financial information for state decision-makers, improve efficiency through redesigned business processes and consolidation of duplicative systems, and provide a more transparent approach to state financial data," David Moskovitz, managing director of Accenture's state and local practice, said in a news release.

Accenture, of Hamilton, Bermuda, ranks No. 23 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
